PIER-GRADÉ LIGHT SCULPTURE
A modular LED lighting system inspired by the interplay of light on water and the aesthetic of color transitions found in dégradé fabric, Pier-Gradé is designed for coastal architecture and piers. Each unit is a weather-resistant, cylindrical light pod that attaches seamlessly along handrails or support beams. Individually controllable, the pods create a continuous, flowing gradient of color—shifting subtly from twilight blue to sunrise gold or deep sea green to coral—mimicking natural ocean hues at different times of day. Powered by solar-integrated caps and backed with marine-grade materials, the system withstands salt spray and high winds. The color transitions are programmable via a mobile app or synced to local sunset/sunrise data for automatic ambiance. Beyond beauty, Pier-Gradé improves nighttime visibility and safety with soft, non-glare illumination that reduces light pollution—ideal for wildlife and stargazing. Installed on public piers, marinas, or seaside promenades, each installation becomes a luminous art piece that evolves with time and tide. Municipalities, resorts, and art districts can customize gradients to reflect local identity or seasonal themes, turning infrastructure into immersive experience. Pier-Gradé merges environmental sensitivity with urban design, transforming overlooked seaside structures into glowing canvases that celebrate the sea’s natural palette.
